Langtang Trekking

Langtang region is the closest region from Kathmandu valley with a few semi-popular trekking routes. The region is basically divided into three major parts; Langtang valley, Gosainkunda Lakes and Helambu region. Each of these regions holds personal significance and importance to a traveller. The Langtang region trek is mostly a single trail from start to end of the trek while Gosainkunda and Helambu region offers circuit routes. Gosainkunda region also serves world’s highest Himalayan lakes such as Gosainkunda, Surya Kunda and Ganesh Kunda. These lakes are holy lakes for both Buddhist and Hindu people. The Helambu region is a remote region and is more suitable as village exploration treks. Langtang region is popular for its peaceful long and short treks.

Langtang region is situated to the north of Kathmandu valley and south of the world’s famous Tibetan border. Most of the places inside our trekking itineraries are protected by Langtang national park which is also the home to many floras and faunas. The region is mostly dominated by the Tamang people. It is believed that these people came from Tibet a long time ago for the settlements. These people are known as innocent and joyful people. Trekking in Langtang will give you opportunities to experience traditions, cultures and lifestyles of these ethnic groups. On another hand, the Helambu region is dominated by Sherpa communities who would introduce themselves as Hyalmo. Langtang region is also less crowded compared to the Everest and Annapurna region.
