Langtang Circuit Trekking

Langtang Circuit Trek is magical combination of adventure, biodiversity, spectacular Himalayan snow-capped peaks and Tibetan influenced ethnic encounters. This region offers several reasons to commence a trek; rhododendron forests, settlements in the cliffs, white Himalayan peaks, majestic waterfalls, high altitude lakes, glaciers, endangered wild animals, natural hot springs etc. Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu Trek is a representative of stunning trekking route. The trekking starts from Syabrubensi after long and tiring bus ride, then goes all the way up to Kyanjin Gompa, Tserko RI and descends down to Pahiro before we start climbing uphill once again. This time we ascend all the way up to Lauribinayak Pass and then again descends down towards Tharepati and Kathmandu. This trek is a combination of Langtang Valley Trekking, Gosainkunda Lake Trek and Helambu Trek, with spectacular Himalayan views, natural wonders, peaceful lakes, thundering rivers, towering waterfalls, wildlife, isolated villages, centuries old cultures, cheerful people and peaceful environment with few tourists. Langtang Circuit Trek is a pleasuring trekking route. This trek is suitable for everyone, either you are beginner or experienced hiker. Most of the past of the trek is easy to moderate however the route also involves some steep ascending and descending. Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu Trekking or Langtang Circuit Trek is a mix of everything and is a moderate trekking trail in Langtang region, north of Kathmandu valley. The trek is popular among trekkers looking for peaceful routes where you are likely to meet few trekkers during the journey. We will be walking through Tamang and Shera communities most of the time. Unlike crowded and commercialized Annapurna and Everest region treks, trekking in this region is a lot different and most enjoyable. As the region serves less tourists every year, Langtang Circuit Trekking is also an ideal route for travelers looking for peaceful journey in the Himalayas. Taking about two and half weeks, this trek is sure to make you glad and blessed.

Finally, we will reach an authentic and stunning village surrounded by Himalayan peaks everywhere. This place is really - really beautiful that any trekker gets peace of mind after reaching this beautiful village. Tserko RI offers close Himalayan views of uncountable Himalayan peaks in 360 degree panorama. It simply feels the best to be in top of such place. We will then return back to Kyanjin Gompa. Village meals are prepared fresh using locally available spices and tastes fresh. Enjoy mouth watering breakfast here. We will then pack our stuffs and start ascending uphill trail leaving Thulo Syabru village behind. Langtang Circuit Trekking is one of the nicest natural treks of Nepal. The trails are not totally commercialized and it's not crowded like Annapurna and Everest routes. We will at least have space to walk on our own. We will be passing via different villages of the region; i.e. Gardagaon and Phulung Ghyang and Chandanbari and Sing Gompa. Chandanbari hosts one of the oldest Yak cheese factories of Nepal. We can taste some locally made cheese during the season. We will find a lodge for overnight stay. The views from Sing Gompa are awesome, enjoy the peaks in the horizon. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

You will have perfect views of Himalayan peaks, green hills, villages and towns in the horizon, river, waterfalls and forests as well. It's perfect place to have some rest. Well, we will continue further via stone cliffs and tiny trail towards Gosainkunda Lake; our main destination. The trail is mostly gentle uphill with occasional short downhill walk. As we enter towards the gorge we will have closer sound of water coming out of the lake; it's sign that we are close. Walking further will give us views of lodges nearby the lake; that's our place for overnight stay. We will look for our look and then stroll around the lake and hills around the lake. You can walk around the village, take pictures and enjoy this amazing place. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

The pass can be easily pointed. It is covered with lots of praying flags and situated on top of a hill. We will see Gosainkunda in one side and our upcoming route in another side. It's amazing to be here. From here the trail descends down towards Phedi. On 31 July 1992, a Thai Air plane was crashed near Phedi causing 113 casualties. A small metal piece is still seen in a lodge here. We will then reach Ghopte (3,430M) and continuing further from Phedi will take us to Mera Kharka for overnight stay. Only one lodge is available in Mera Kharka, if we are unable to find room here then we may need to walk further to Tharepati for overnight stay. It is a long and tiring day. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 13: Trek to Melamchi Gaon, the pleasant village of the whole region (2,550M / 5 - 6 Hours Trek)

We enjoy breakfast in the middle of the forest and start climbing gentle uphill before we reach another small pass called Tharepati (3,600M). Soon after we leave Tharepati, we will start walking inside the dense green forests. The trail is steep and sometimes slippery.
