What is trekking / hiking?

The term “trekking” is used to refer to a long walk or hike – usually on a trail – that takes place at a relatively slow pace. Trekking can be a recreational activity, but it’s also an excellent way for people to get in shape and enjoy the outdoors.  Trekking is multiday hiking programs.

In another hand, the term “hiking” refers to short day walks where you will return to your own place after completing the walk. Hiking is short in nature and it’s usually a single-day program.

Trekking / Hiking is a fun activity but can be strenuous from time to time. The key to trekking is pacing oneself and not pushing your body too hard at any point in the journey. There are a few tips that one should keep in mind when hiking

  1. Pace yourself – don’t try to push yourself too hard or climb too high.
  2. Always pack hiking gear – bring a first-aid kit, water, food, and raincoats.

Nepal is the heaven for trekkers from all over the world. From a day hike to 6-month long trekking programs are available in the country. In addition, trekkers can experience different tastes in different trekking regions such as Everest Region Trekking, Annapurna Trek, Langtang Trekking, Manaslu Trekking, etc.

Popular trekking routes such as Annapurna Circuit Trek, Everest Base Camp Trek, Annapurna Base Camp Trek, etc. often get busy during the travel season. It’s recommended to book the tours on time to avoid having problems or running out of flight tickets to Lukla.

Lukla Airport; often referred to as one of the most dangerous airports in the world is the starting point for most treks in Everest / Khumbu region.
