Welcome to the land of happiness. Upon arrival, our airport representative will receive you and drive to Thimpu for overnight. It’s a beautiful drive through Bhutanese countrysides.
The School of Thankha Painting and Tashi Nincha, a folk studio will be visited. The traditional mask dance is learned there as well as practiced. In the afternoon we will be visiting Zelukha Nunnery, TashiChho Dzong and Handicraft Emporium.If time permits, you can walk around Thimpu before we conclude our tour today.
In the morning, we will the memorial Chhortens and witness some goldsmith and silversmith works. Then once we have our lunch we will drive to Punakha via Dochula Pass (3100M / 10,170FT). We will have some time to explore Punakha valley.
We will explore Wangdue town before we have our lunch. Then we will drive to Trongsa over Pelela Pass which is above 3400 meters and the highest place of this journey. This place is one of the beautiful places that we will be visiting.
In the morning, we will visit outer premises of Trongsa Dzong. This is one of the largest Dzongs in the country. Trongsa represents new village. We will be around Trongsa until we finish our lunch and start our journey to Bumthang.
We will explore different valleys of Bumthang such as Kurje Lhakhang, Tamshing Lhakhang and Kuenshusum Lhakhang. Once we visit those places we will start our drive to Gangtey for overnight.
We will visit Rukhubji village and then drive to Paro for overnight. Explore Paro in the evening if time permits.
A magnificent and picturesque day of the journey, we will hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (སྤ་རོ་སྟག་ཚང་། Paro Taktsang or Taktsang Palphug Monastery at 3,120M / 10,236FT) today. This hike is a famous hike in Bhutan that is done by a number of people everyday. This monastery was burnt in 1998 in an unfortunate accident however it’s restored back to original state at this time.
We will drive you to the airport approximately 3 hours before your flight time. The airport is small and has only 1 terminal. You can fly back to Nepal or any other countries as you wish. It’s time to say goodbye until we meet again!
Meals and Accommodation: The whole tour is based on 3-star category hotels. We will provide your meals as per the itinerary. The meals will be usually locally prepared foods. The tour is based on full board service hence all your meals are included (refer to day-to-day itinerary).
Best Season for the Tour: March to May and September to November is considered the best season to travel Bhutan. The days between December to February and June to August are known as the low season. Not to forget, Bhutan is a year-round destination hence visitors go there throughout the year.
The prices are different based on the number of people traveling together. The larger the group size, the lower the price will be. For example, the price for 1 person will be higher than the price per person based on 2 people. Similarly, comparing to the prices per person for 2 – 5 people traveling together will be higher than the prices per person for 6 – 9 people traveling together. However, the prices you will see at the time of the booking will be final regardless of price changes in the future.
We accept all major currencies such as USD, EUR, CAD, AUD, SGD, MYR, GBP, THB, CHF, JPY, HKD, etc. Credit card payments are accepted only in USD. We also accept bank transfers, direct remittance services (Western Union, Moneygram), etc.
March to May and September to November are considered the best months to visit Bhutan. December to February and June to August are considered low season months.
The trek has free cancellation 60 days before departure. Any cancellations received within 60 days of departure will incur 15% cancellation fees of the total tour price.
This is a full board tour hence all meals as referred to in the itinerary will be provided accordingly. Vegetarian and nonvegetarian meals are available in the hotels. The hotels serve Indian, Chinese, Continental, and Bhutanese foods.
We provide 3-star category hotels throughout the tour. All hotels will be government-approved hotels. Please let us know if you want to know the hotels in advance.
This is an overland tour hence there is no question about fitness. Anyone can join this tour however the hike to Tiger’s Nest monastery needs a great fitness level which can be withdrawn from the tour if you are unable to hike there.
Absolutely, you are welcome to join the tour with your kids. In fact, Bhutan is a great family destination.
