We will enjoy a hot breakfast at the lodge before we start our day. The first part of the trail until Bagarchhap is gentle uphill climbing. The gentle climbing continues until a small settlement; Danaque. Passing the village of Danaque, we have steep climbing for about two hours to Timang Danda (top of a hill) for a lunch with excellent views of Himalayan peaks including the Manaslu region and Annapurna Massif. For the next two hours, we will be passing through villages like Latamarang, Thanchok, and Koto on the nearly flat trail to reach Chame for the night stay.

Just after starting today's walk, we will cross the famous Marshyangdi River and pass through the older part of Chame. Soon, we will enter the forests of Pine and Rhododendrons before reaching Bratang where the famous apple garden of Manang exists. In a bit, we will again have to cross the suspension bridge over the Marshyangdi River where we will be greeted by the giant rocks of Paungda Danda; a locally sacred rocky mountain. We will have to make a steep climb for about an hour where we will reach Dhukur Pokhari; our lunch spot with excellent views and the border between lower and upper Manang. Continuing on flat terrain for about an hour will take us to the popular village of Pisang where we will be spending a night.

At the beginning of the hike, we will cross the river the walk on the side of Upper Pisang village. Soon the trail gets steeper and we will be walking inside the forests of rhododendrons, pine, and oaks. The higher route of Ghyaru (3,670M) and Ngawal (3,660M) offers impressive views of Annapurna II, III, IV. Having a hot lunch, sitting on the top of the valley, and watching mountains glow is not comparable with any other experiences. Once we cross the popular villages of Ghyaru and Ngawal, the trail descends to Braga then a short and gentle ascend will lead us to Manang village.
3540 M
We have a rest day with optional hikes for the ones interested. There are two major hikes available in Manang village; the least famous, difficult and our favorite hike is to visit Ice Lake which takes about 9 - 10 hours to reach and return. Ice Lake is situated on top of Manang valley, it's a long and difficult walk but it's much more rewarding. The views from the top of Ice Lake are simply magical; consider doing it. The second and most famous option is to hike to Gangapurna Glacier and Gangapurna viewpoint. This is close to Manang village, takes about 3 - 4 hours, and can be done as a short detour.
During the main trekking season, there is an altitude sickness talk in the Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA) post every day, time permitting, you can make a visit if interested.

We have a short and beautiful hike to Yak Kharka. The day is full of amazing mountain views right in front of you, occasional views of Himalayan Blue sheep and grazing yaks, donkeys, and horses. The walk is fairly easy and we are expected to reach Yak Kharka by lunch. If interested, we recommend you do a hike over the valley for better acclimatization.

We have another short day where we have to reach the foothills of the famous Thorong La Pass. The first part of the trail starts with a short and easy ascending to Churi Ledar (4250M) and Ledar (4230M) villages. The trail continues to the gorge of Kone Khola (a small stream) where we will have to make a cross and walk on the other side of the valley. A nearly flat walk for about an hour will take us to Thorong Phedi at 4450 meters. If you are well acclimatized and experienced in high altitudes then steep climbing for about an hour will take us to Thorong High Camp. Rest and relax, we have a big day coming up next.

Get ready to start before sunrise. Keep yourself prepared with energy bars, packed lunch, and plenty of water. It's going to be a long, difficult, and tiring day but it's a big reward for us. Thorong La Pass which is decorated with lots of praying flags and a Chorten is one of the most fascinating mountain passes in Nepal and is popular among travelers from all over the world. This is the highest point of our adventure as well as the most difficult day. We will have plenty of time to stay on top to capture memories on this beautiful point on earth.
The descending walk from the top of Thorong La Pass to Muktinath is not easy. It's approximately 1600 meters descending which is steep, slippery, and rough. A lot of people find it more difficult to descend from Thorong La Pass to Muktinath than the ascending from Thorong Phedi to the top of the Pass.
Muktinath is a famous holy place for both Hindus and Buddhists people. Time permitting, a visit to this sacred land is recommended.

We will take a bus from Muktinath to Tatopani. It is a long day drive where we will be descending for about 2600 meters in a day. The road is rough in many places, including steep descends, several curves, and a bumpy ride. We will be passing by the popular villages of Kagbeni, Jomsom, Marpha, Tukuche, and Ghasa. Tatopani is translated as Hot Water, it's not difficult to guess that a natural hot spring exists here. A visit to this holy natural hot spring is recommended in the evening. It is believed that the hot water in the pool cures diseases related to the skin.

We will have to cross the Kali Gandaki River before we start the ascend. Probably, this is the second most difficult day. We have approximately 1700 meters ascending on this day. We will pass through the villages of Ghara, Sikha, and Phalante before reaching the famous Ghorepani village. The walk rewards us with amazing views of the Himalayas, villages in the cliffs, ever-smiling people, forests of blooming Rhododendrons, wild animals, and several farmlands. Ghorepani village is probably the most popular village among tourists, this village hosts nearly a thousand tourists during the peak season to visit the astonishing Poon Hill View Point.

Visit Poon Hill early morning for sunrise which produces magical golden rays over the Himalayan peaks of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Poon Hill is magic, it is a reward, and it is a precious gift for your sacrifices. The 360-degree panoramic view from the summit of Poon Hill is not worth comparing with any other viewpoints.
We will return back to our lodge in Ghorepani and start our descent to Nayapul via popular villages en route such as Banthanti, Ulleri, Tikhedhunga, and Birethanti. Nayapul is the end of the trekking where our transportation will pick up us and take us to Pokhara for a good sleep after spending several days in the mountains.

Best trekking experience of my life! Aashman was the best guide we could have asked for, he really made the experience great with his extensive knowledge, advise, amazing choice of accommodation and restaurants, and a great guy to spend time with, playing cards and making jokes. The trek itself had spectacular views of the Annapurna range, Manaslu, Dhaulagiri, and many others. Tough but very rewarding. As well as this there was lots of flexibility in terms of where to start and end the trek, with jeeps or busses available up to Manang, and from Muktinath onwards. We chose to start in Chame, and finish in Muktinath, but stopped in Tatopani for the hot springs to relax at the end.
Overall a great experience and would highly recommend Himalayan Leisure, Inc
