Itinerary

Day 01Drive from Kathmandu to Kyirong

Welcome to the land of happiness. Upon arrival, our airport representative will receive you and drive to Thimpu for overnight. It’s a beautiful drive through Bhutanese countrysides.

Day 02Drive to Tingri

An amazing drive through the Tibetan plateau, a very beautiful day is here. On a clear day, one can enjoy tremendous views of Himalayan peaks such as Cho Oyu, Shisapangma and Mt. Everest itself.

Day 03Drive to Xigatse

Continue with the beautiful drive to Gyatchu La (5,220M / 17,125FT); the highest mountain pass of our journey. Here, we will separate our route that leads to Mount Kailash, a famous Hindu pilgrimage site.

Day 04Drive to Gyantse

We will visit Panchen Lama’s Tashilhumpu Monastery in the morning. This is a highly significant monastery in Tibet. Then we will start our drive to Gyantse through the scenic views. Once we reach Gyantse, we will visit Kumbum Stupa and Phalkor Monastery.

Day 05Drive to Lhasa

Another amazing drive is here. We have to cross Karola (5,010M / 16,437FT) and Kambala (4,750M / 15,583FT). We will also pay a visit to Yamdrok-Tso Lake (4,441M / 14,570FT) and the lifeline of Tibet; Brahma Putra River (Yarlung Tsangpo).

Day 06Sightseeing in Lhasa

This is the first day of our 2 days sightseeing in Lhasa. On the first day of our sightseeing we will visit Potala Palace, Johkang Temple, and Barkhor Street. Potala Palace was used by the famous King of Tibet; Dalai Lama since 7th Century. Our next visit will be the Johkhan Temple, which was founded by the 33rd great king of Tibet. We will then explore the Barkhor Street before concluding the day.

Day 07Sightseeing in Lhasa

The first part of the tour will take us to Drepung Monastery; one of the three Gelug monasteries of Tibet. This monastery was founder by Jamyang choge in 1416AD. Our afternoon will be to visit Sera Monastery which is also one of the three Gelug monasteries of Tibet. Free evening to explore the city.

Day 08Fly from Lhasa to Kathmandu

We will take our flight from Lhasa to Kathmandu. It’s a scenic flight. Upon arriving in Kathmandu, we will transfer you to your hotel and the services end here.

Alternatively, you can also fly to other destinations if that’s more convenient for you.

What is included in the tour price?

  • Airport pickup and drop services on a private vehicle including before and after the tour(1 airport transfer for international departure in Lhasa, 2 complementary airport transfer in Kathmandu if required)
  • Tibet Travel Permit and all other necessary permits to Tibet
  • All entrance ticket fees for all tourist sites listed in the itinerary

What is not included in the tour price?

  • International airfares (your outward flight from Lhasa is not included), Nepal visa fees (if required), travel and medical insurance, emergency evacuation(Nepal via fees; 15 days - USD 30, 30 Days - USD 50, 90 Days - USD 125 | Visa extension - USD 3 per day, Late fine - USD 5 per day)
  • Costs arising from natural calamities, mishaps or anything beyond our control (weather problems, airline issues, unforseen circumstances)(Costs are not refundable and transferable in any mean if you leave the trek voluntarily and want to return from the trek earlier than scheduled)
  • Personal nature expenses such as laundry, telephone bills, snacks, drinks, optional additional tour activities(It's recommended to avoid alcoholic drinks in Tibet)
  • Lunch and dinner throughout the tour is not included
  • Tipping / gratis for guides / drivers / support staffs(Tipping is expected at the end of the tour)
  • Services not mentioned in 'Services Includes' section(Such as porters, pony services, personal shopping, internet, phone bills etc. Please ask us if you are confused about any services)

Meals and Accommodation: The whole tour is based on 3-star category hotels. We will provide your meals as per the itinerary. The meals will be usually locally prepared foods. The tour is based on full board service hence all your meals are included (refer to day-to-day itinerary).

Best Season for the Tour: The tour is run throughout the year however the road between Kathmandu to Kyirong often gets problem due to landslides and flooding.

Which currency is most widely accepted on this tour?

We accept all major currencies such as USD, EUR, CAD, AUD, SGD, MYR, GBP, THB, CHF, JPY, HKD, etc. Credit card payments are accepted only in USD. We also accept bank transfers, direct remittance services (Western Union, Moneygram), etc.

It’s recommended to carry Chinese Yuan for paying your expenses in Tibet

The Tour is run throughout the year.

What is the cancellation policy?

The tour has free cancellation 60 days before departure. Any cancellations received within 60 days of departure will incur 15% cancellation fees of the total tour price.

How are the meals and accommodation on the tour?

This is a room and breakfast tour plan. Your other meals are payable yourself. A variety of meal options are available in the hotels such as Chinese, Continental, etc.

Do I need to be physically fit?

Not really. Everyone is welcome to join this tour

Can I / we do this tour with kids?

Absolutely, you are welcome to join the tour with your kids. In fact, Tibet is a great family destination.
