Introduction

The best way to see India is to take the Golden Triangle Tour. The tour takes you through three different Indian states, but two of them are cultural jewels. The first trail is in New Delhi’s Rajasthan, the second trail is in the Taj Mahal of Agra, and the third trail takes you through Jaipur, otherwise known as the Golden City.

Itinerary

Day 01Arrival in Delhi, free day to explore the city

Welcome to Delhi; one of the most famous places in the world. Delhi is paradise for food lovers. We will have a tour briefing in the evening, if your flights arrive with spare time then you are free to explore the town on your own.

Day 02Sightseeing in Delhi

We will be visiting several places in Delhi on this day. The tour starts with a metro ride and exploration on a rickshaw ride to water-filled square of Chandni Chowk. Learn about the history of the Sikh Religion before exploring Delhi’s oldest mosque, Jama Masjid.

Day 03Drive to Jaipur

We will start our drive to Jaipur; the capital of Rajasthan. Rajasthan is a city with full of charm and a huge number of shops of jewellery, textiles and folk arts. We may visit Hawa Mahal (The Palace of Winds) before heading to Jaipur’s Royal City Palace. Before concluding the tour, one of five astronomical observatories built by Maharaja Jai Singh will be discovered.

Day 04Exploration in Jaipur

We will head to Amber fort after having breakfast. This fort is situated on top of a hill and known as one of the magnificent works in India. The fort is an outstanding piece Rajput architecture and the Sheesh Mahal (Hall of Mirrors) is one of its more breathtaking buildings.

Day 05Drive to Karauli

We will take a drive to Karauli, a fascinating town near Agra. This amazing place was founded in 1348 and is full with rural ambiance and centuries old temples. Explore the old Square with your guide and enjoy tasting some of the locally made delicious sweets.

Day 06Drive to Agra via Fatehpur Sikri

We will reach Agra today and visit Fatehpur Sikri along the way. Fatehpur Sikri used to be a Mughal empire. You will witness the mosque that represents both Persian and Hindu designs. Once in Agra, we will visit the fascinating Taj Mahal, which was built as a memorial to the wife of Emperor Shah Jahan. It is said that once the construction of the Taj Mahal was completed, the King ordered to cut the hands of all workers so that nobody could make another Taj Mahal in the future.

Day 07Mornign activities, drive to Delhi

We will visit the banks of Yamuna River and beautiful Agra Fort in the morning before commencing our drive to Delhi. We will take the drive in the afternoon. Time permitting, free time for shopping and rest in Delhi before our departure.

Day 08Departure from Delhi, end of our services

Time permitting, you will have free morning. We will take you to the airport approximately 3 hours before your flight. It’s a good bye until we meet again!

Costing

What is included in the tour price?

  • Airport pickup and drop services on a private vehicle including before and after the tour(2 airport transfers for international arrival and departure in Delhi, 2 complementary airport transfer in Kathmandu if required)
  • 7 Night accommodation in respective cities as per the itinerary with breakfast(3 star category hotels)
  • All required permits and entry fees as per the itinerary
  • All ground transfers with driver as per the itinerary
  • English speaking, government licensed guide throughout the tour
  • Necessary paper works, all government and local taxes, company service charges(No hidden fees, no surprising prices)
  • Complimentary welcome or farewell dinner in Kathmandu at a cultural restaurant (if possible)(In case you fly out or fly in to Kathmandu after the tour, we will coordinate a culture dinner for you)

What is not included in the tour price?

  • International airfares, India visa fees (if required), travel and medical insurance, emergency evacuation
  • Meals are not included(Breakfast provided throughout the tour)
  • Costs arising from natural calamities, mishaps or anything beyond our control (weather problems, airline issues, unforseen circumstances)(Costs are not refundable and transferable in any mean if you leave the trek voluntarily and want to return from the trek earlier than scheduled)
  • Tipping / gratis for guides / drivers / support staffs(Tipping is expected at the end of the tour)
  • Services not mentioned in 'Services Includes' section(Such as porters, pony services, personal shopping, internet, phone bills etc. Please ask us if you are confused about any services)
SUPPORT

Meals and Accommodation: The whole tour is based on 3-star category hotels. We will provide your meals (breakfast) as per the itinerary. There are several restaurants that serve Indian, Chinese, Continental, Italian, etc. meals. India is a paradise for food lovers and you will find all different tastes.

Best Season for the Tour: October to Mid-April is considered the best time to join the Golden Triangle tour. It’s neither too cold nor too hot during this season (although Delhi can be freezing in December and January).  It’s monsoon season from June to September so it’s not recommended to visit during monsoon months.

FAQ

I'm a solo traveller, is there a single supplement?

The prices are different based on the number of people traveling together. The larger the group size, the lower the price will be. For example, the price for 1 person will be higher than the price per person based on 2 people. Similarly, comparing to the prices per person for 2 – 5 people traveling together will be higher than the prices per person for 6 – 9 people traveling together. Please contact us for the final price before.

Which currency is most widely accepted on this tour?

We accept all major currencies such as USD, EUR, CAD, AUD, SGD, MYR, GBP, THB, CHF, JPY, HKD, etc. Credit card payments are accepted only in USD. We also accept bank transfers, direct remittance services (Western Union, Moneygram), etc.

When is the best time to travel? What is the best season?

March to May and October to mid April are considered the best months to visit India. It’s considered not a good time to visit from May to September, it’s hot and rains a lot during monsoon season. For those who cannot make a visit in main season, the tour is offered throughout the year.

What is the cancellation policy?

The trek has free cancellation 60 days before departure. Any cancellations received within 60 days of departure will incur 15% cancellation fees of the total tour price.

How are the meals and accommodation on the tour?

This is a room / breakfast-based tour hence all meals as referred to in the itinerary will be provided accordingly. Vegetarian and nonvegetarian meals are available in the hotels. The hotels serve Indian, Chinese, Continental, and Italian foods. India is heaven for food lovers.

We provide 3-star category hotels throughout the tour. All hotels will be government-approved hotels. Please let us know if you want to know the name of the hotels in advance.

Do I need to be physically fit?

This is an overland-based tour, there is no question about fitness. Anyone of any age can join this tour.

Can I / we do this tour with kids?

Absolutely, you are welcome to join the tour with your kids. In fact, India is a great family destination.

Are the guides experienced? Are they licensed?

Yes, we only hire Government licensed guides with great experience.
